On the 4th of April 2006 when Brian Haw’s continuous peace campaign was two months short of five years long, photographer Richard Keith Wolff first met him in Parliament Square. London, UK, 4th April 2006
"Brian Haw lived outdoors on the edge of Parliament Square, at this period sleeping at night between two billboards leaning against each other. He was campaigning for peace outside and opposite the House of Commons. This was the first time that I met the persistent peace campaigner. At night when I was trying to sleep in bed I was being kept awake by the noise of raining ‘cats and dogs’ outside, then I thought about Brian Haw sleeping outdoors between those two precarious billboards. Postscript: Brian Haw served his country for almost ten years facing the House of Commons in Parliament Square until death brought an end to his peace campaign.
