Queen Victoria, bronze statue, by Francis John Williamson, who was said to be Queen Victoria's favourite sculptor, erected 1902. The bronze statue is standing on a granite plinth and Queen Victoria is posed facing the sea, with her right hand holding a sceptre. On the front of the granite plinth is written: VICTORIA R I 1837 - 1901, the statue represents, honours and alludes to the Queen’s association with the town. The side and base of the bronze statue is engraved F.J. WILLIAMSON. SC, ESHER 1902, the sculptor, the place of the studio and the date of the work.
