Sir Arthur Sullivan (1842 -1900) memorial, English composer, best known for his collaboration with dramatist W. S. Gilbert (1836–1911), as 'Gilbert and Sullivan'. The words on the side of the pedestal, say “Is life a boon? If so it must befall, that death whenever he call, must call too soon”. On the front of the stand is a muse of music mourning as she leans against the pedestal that is holding the bust of Sullivan at its top. On the other side, sheet music, a mandolin and Pan mask lie at the foot of the sculpture’s base inscribed with W Goscombe John A.R.A. 1902. Victoria Embankment Gardens, London, UK
