Olympic rings sculptured locally and made in the local English Portland limestone, is situated on the Isle of Portland, but was originally displayed outside Weymouth's Train Station to greet visitors coming to the Olympic sailing events. Behind the present rings location in the distant background is the sailing academy, Portland Harbour and Weymouth Bay, where all the Olympic sailing events were held, with all the trills and spills of the worlds finest sailors compeating for their countries.
