Joanna Gilmore researcher from Manchester University is invited to talk at a Parliamentary meeting organised by Stop the War Coalition StWC about the results of her research work on the disproportionately severe jail sentences for relatively minor offences being given to mainly Muslims selected amongst the protesters against the Israeli invasion of Gaza and the questionable policing methods employed at these demonstrations in January 2009 outside the Israeli Embassy and later unreasonably harsh arrests techniques used by the police.
