Dante

The Thinker (Le Penseur), bronze version, sculpture by Auguste Rodin (1840 -1917) displayed in the Musee Rodin gardens. The sculpture was originally designed in a smaller size near the top of ‘The Gates of Hell’ the figure then named ‘The Poet’ (Le Poète) understood to be a representation of Dante the author of the “Divine Comedy” that the Gates are based on.
